ACUPUNCTURE
Acupuncture is a form of complementary medicine that involves pricking the skin or tissues with needles, used to alleviate pain and to treat various physical, mental, and emotional conditions. We are grateful for the paired work between Danette and Courtney and the great knowledge base they provide our patients. Acupuncture is another way we can offer treatments plans built around custom care.
Danette VanderBeek travels from Southwest MN monthly to join us at our practice in Nisswa. She offers Master acupuncturist plans along with other services.

Dr. TJ and Sara Graber have had a long standing relationship with Danette, (over 15 years), bridging the gap of Eastern and Western medicine, making Danette an integral part in some of Northern Hope’s patients cases. Danette VanderBeek is a licensed acupuncturist in the state of Minnesota and is certified nationally through the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). Danette also received her Bachelors of Science degree from North Dakota State University and attended Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, Minnesota for 3 years. She received her Masters of Acupuncture in 2013.
Courtney Tumburg extends her acupuncture services from Wadena, MN on Wednesdays every week at Northern Hope. She became interested in acupuncture as an alternative method of supporting patient health and healing after studying exercise science at Bemidji State University.
Courtney Tumberg, L.Ac. graduated from Northwestern Health Sciences University in 2020, where she earned her master’s degree in Chinese Medicine. She is licensed with the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice and is clean needle certified through the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.​

MERIDIAN STRESS ASSESSMENT
MSA uses advanced, non-invasive technology that utilizes an OHM meter to measure emotional and physiological reactions by tracking changes in the skin conductance with world-class software. Using styluses and AcuPoints, the system gathers information on the 14 major organs & systems of the body. The system works to identify allergies & sensitivities, complete nutritional assessments, identify stressor & aid in development of strategy for stress & anxiety management & aid in the management of chronic conditions by providing insight into underlying causes & contributing factors.
